Leads the sales effort across all Energy business lines to assigned strategic clients. This includes but is not limited to, performs prospecting and conducts opportunity screening, leads all new business efforts for assigned strategic clients, interacts with clients to identify opportunities for new business, develops proactive client management plans, acts as source and builds relationships with key clients, provides leadership to ensure client sales team is coordinated, oversees proposal process, and participates in negotiations.
- Performs prospecting and conducts opportunity screening through approved methods to pursue new business opportunities .
- Leads all new business effort for assigned strategic clients .
- Interacts with clients to identify opportunities that lead to new business .
- Develops proactive client management plans in accordance with guidelines of the Black and Veatch Client Management Program .
- Acts as the internal knowledge source for the client interests in new business opportunities
- Ensures the client is informed about Black and Veatch capabilities that might apply to client’s business .
- Establishes and builds relationships with key or strategic clients .
- Provides leadership to ensure that client sales team is coordinated; team roles with client peers; appropriate Black and Veatch executives with client executives by correctly matching the client to appropriate Black and Veatch professional
- Oversees process for proposals to ensure value propositions and winning strategies .
- Responsible to meet annual sales budgets, revenue, and Project Gross Margin (PGM) .
- Participates in contract negotiations with overall sales team .
- Ensures that Electronic Client Resource Management (eCRM) system is up to date with all applicable client data .
- Manages New Client Projects
- Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline preferred; Master’s Degree desirable
- Training: Formal sales training in understanding client needs; effective strategic account management; and making effective presentations
- Preferred Skills: . Ability to complete Black and Veatch sales curriculum . Strong technical understanding of energy and power markets, including drivers and general trends .
